FOUNDATION

Krabbesholm is both a folk high school and a radical art school. Through creativity and the courage to act, we strengthen the sense of citizenship and shared responsibility for the future of our planet.

We challenge traditional pedagogical structures and norms. Here, both teachers and students are free to explore new directions — even when the process is uncertain, the goal unclear, and the risk of failure high.

We develop tools for creating, thinking critically, and shaping the future — not only as artists, architects, and designers, but as whole human beings and active citizens. Stepping into the unknown and creating something new takes courage. That is the courage we seek to strengthen — because change demands it.

We do not shape people. We give them the opportunity and tools to shape themselves. We see difference and vulnerability as strengths and believe in the human ability to develop throughout life. Identity is not fixed — it is created through action. What we do is more important than what we were.

Community is not merely a catalyst for personal growth — it is a space we enter as unique individuals. We respect that everyone must find their own individual path into the community.

At Krabbesholm, both the individual and the community are challenged in our experimental learning spaces, where everything takes shape around our shared vision for work, space, and action.

Plan for evaluating the purpose statement The board discusses the visibility of the purpose in the school’s practices at least once a year, following presentations from the school and the chairman.
