Perhaps the spoon is the first tool that humans have actually produced. The hand is shaped into a hollow container to collect water from a source, it is brought up to the mouth, and with the right angle, the water can be poured into the mouth. Translated into bone, horn, wood, or metal, ceramics, and plastic, the spoon is one of the most useful tools we have. And wonderfully simple with plenty of variations.

One of the classic disciplines in the field of design is dealing with the tool. The object that, operated by the hand, enables humans to perform tasks they otherwise couldn’t, such as sawing, sewing, knitting and so on.

Therefore, were the students in our Design department asked to create a spoon for a given context/situation, for a specific person, and for a particular use. This resulted in these very unique outcomes
