The duo Frederik Gustav have been guest teachers at Design for a week. The duo has challenged the students’ tectonic skills under the theme “The floor is made of lava”. The task has been to create installations that relate to the space by investigating the physical properties of the materials. Throughout the week, Frederik and Gustav have made the students focus on the experiment rather than the result, which has resulted in very different spatial installations, each of which of both experimental and sculptural qualities.
