Through screen printing, typography, and branding, the students in Visual Communication worked with the t-shirt as a billboard for political and personal messages. The first step was to choose a political cause to fight for, formulate and design a personal and relevant statement. At the same time, the students had to find a charitable organization that was relevant to their statements.
After this, the students printed their messages on white t-shirts using screen printing. Subsequently, the students had the task of elaborating on their statements by designing price tags and making campaign videos. Finally, the project culminated in a performative pop-up shop, where the students’ statement t-shirts were sold to the rest of the school. The proceeds from the sold t-shirts were donated to the charitable organizations selected by the students themselves.
