Spring 2017

Feature

This week visual artist Asta Lynge, who lives and works in London, was guest teaching. We examined ‘Feature’ understood as both the subject and format. A movie consists of moving images and images of information. We worked with moving images (film, video, animation) and the relation between form and content. During the week we had screenings every evening. The students were asked to think about different aspects throughout their production. We discussed subjects as process, visualisation of information, the image as index, modification and effects, the relation between sound and image, editing, montages, real time, silence and movement, narration, deconstruction and demystification. Friday we finished up the workshop with a screening of the produced works for the rest of the school.
