Some say every seventh person in the world wear jeans daily. Denim, and in particular The Blue Jean, is a global phenomena and an unavoidable part of the story of Western popular culture.
Denim has, over time, moved from being a uniform for the workers to being an essential cultural signifier within a plethora of genres and subcultures. Denim has been worn by cowboys, hippies, punks, rockers and rappers, and hangs today in virtually any wardrobe.
Design at Krabbesholm Højskole had a visit from Anna Gunvor Hyttel for a three day workshop. A pile of used denim was transformed into anything from sculptures, wall art, video works to fashion.
Finally the works were shown in the schools photo studio.
