Squatting Four Boxes Gallery

In this project the architect Aske Beha Busch visited the architecture class and introduced the students to squatting – the act of taking over an abandoned building. In this specific case the abandoned building would be Krabbesholm’s exhibition space Four Boxes Gallery, which is a quite raw and clean cut building. It would then be the students task to take over this space and create a home. This meant creating a dining area, sleeping areas for all students from the architecture class and a living room. An important element to the project was that each student should implement 3-4 objects of their own choice. This should add to a more homely atmosphere. The main structure was made by battens and found boards – primarily wood. The project was rounded off with a cozy meal around the newly made fireplace and a housewarming for the entire school.
