All the World’s Bus Stops

A bus stop as an architectural program can be seen as a biopsi of a country’s cultural, climatic, social and architectural conditions. Therefor, this week the students have been asked to design a bus stop for a given country – here among Mexico, Iran, Scotland, China and Greenland. The students were introduced to a set of methods; firstly research/collage, secondly model-marathon and finally representation through an isometric drawing/collage. The methods focused on a combination of tempo and contemplation and they have efficiently generated a development of the projects. Also, they were important tools to reach a design that clearly reflects a coherency with the given context.

The project is based on our guest teacher Sara Fibiger’s thesis project from the Aarhus School of Architecture as well as her work in practice with the firm Monstrum.
