In this assignment, the students were introduced to the most important tools of architecture; the three-dimensional model and the technical drawing.
We have worked with the more processual and abstract working model, the architecton. An architecton is a figure of architectural character, a spatial composition that can be experienced from all four sides, it is free of function and direction but convey space and a formal principle.
The elements of which the composition was to be made up of were fashioned in aerated concrete as a series of standardises types; the block, the deck and the beam.
In working with the architecton, the students had to examine the composition and create openings and passages between the elements and consider which spatial concepts the composition expresses. Subsequently, the composition had to be drawn in plan and elevation.
