Rituals and Needs

During this project the students were asked to reflect on their own use of the home. What rituals have they – consciously or not – build? What needs do one have in a home?

They were also asked to reflect on the question: What constitutes a home? Can a home only exist in a private residence or can it exist somewhere else?

These reflections resulted in several interesting texts were some took form of essays and others resembled a journal. The students turned out to have many different views on how a home should be.

With inspiration in the texts the students had to draw a house. Once again, the students’ results were diverse and the project ended with a thorough review of the projects and interesting conversations regarding rituals, concepts, living forms etc.

This project became the baseline for a later project, where focus was on creating models.
