Limestone:
Amplitude

The artist community Limestone opens their exhibition Amplitude during the autumn holidays at Krabbesholm’s gallery Four Boxes. Amplitude is an investigation of the community’s breadth, and movement and how we in the meeting of people, materials and expression create greater fluctuations when we come together. The exhibition spreads over three floors, where both painting, sculpture, video and photography enter into dialogue with each other.

The artists are Rosita Kær, Maria Storm-Gran, Therese Bülow, Luna Scales, Marie Hartmann, Jos Nyreen, Marie Holst Lorenzen, Clara Reeh, Caroline Sofie Have and the exhibition is curated by Damai Syarifuddin.

The exhibition at Krabbesholm is close to Limestone’s own foundation, as the Danish high school also builds on the learning space in the community, and in this process the Limestone artists have had space to explore their own practice and at the same time put it into perspective in a collective expression.

Limestone arose in the summer of 2021 on the initiative of Clara Reeh and Caroline Sofie Have. Together they invited seven other artists from Denmark, Norway and Finland. “In the art industry we still experience a lack of representation of female and non-binary artists, and we have therefore taken the initiative to create a professional space where we lift each other up.” – *Clara Reeh and Caroline Sofie Have *

Since 2021, Limestone has published a publication which among other things, can be found at Copenhagen Contemporary, Det Kgl. Library and several bookstores in Copenhagen. In addition, they have held an exhibition at Springbrættet 6A – an exhibition venue for upcoming artists.
