In continuation of the exhibition New Nordic Architecture, which the college held in the autumn of 2013, we have invited two of the participating architectural firms to create a sketch project: Jensen and Skodvin from Norway and Tham and Videgård from Sweden.
The project involves new classrooms for art and photography, and after reviewing the two projects, the college has chosen Tham and Videgård to carry out the task.
Tham and Videgård‘s sketch project is expressed in a distinct, well-developed architectural language, with clear references to the college’s other buildings while still maintaining its own distinctive identity. The buildings’ volume, the covered spaces, and considerations of materials and natural light intake demonstrate a precise understanding of the requirements posed by the teaching and daily life at the college for these new structures.
Thanks to the two architectural firms for their proposals.
And congratulations to Tham and Videgård! We look forward to further collaboration.
