Over the weekend, Home vs. Owner 2 (chimney pots), 2023 by Sidsel Meineche Hansen was inaugurated, adding a significant and thought-provoking contribution to the school’s publicly accessible sculpture park.

The sculpture, Home vs. Owner 2, takes the form of a life-sized chimney from an English working-class home, constructed in red brick bond. As part of the Home vs. Owner series, the work explores the relationship between the owning class and the rest of society, highlighting the mechanisms that shape economic inclusion and exclusion.

A special thanks to Sidsel Meineche Hansen for the work, and to Rebekka Laugesen for the curatorial efforts surrounding its realization.

The acquisition was made possible through support from Ny Carlsbergfondet, whose longstanding commitment to the arts has been instrumental, as well as from Beckett Fonden, whose support helps strengthen the place of art in shared public spaces.
