Literature in Copenhagen

Every year many new books are being published. So how do you get your texts published, and how does the industry work? In order to find the answers to these questions the literature team visited Copenhagen.

The student took part at a seminar about the posthuman in the literature at Copenhagen’s main library, where both researchers and writers talked about differences in perceptions of the posthuman. There were readings by Merete Pryds Helle, Ida Marie Hede and Lone Hørslev.

The students also visited publishers. First they visited the editor in chief Sune de Souza Schmidt-Madsen at Lindhardt and Ringhof for a talk about this year’s releases and how to become a published author. Then the students went to Gyldendal, where the they had a chance to ask questions to editors from the fiction department about how their workflows are and what they are looking for in new manuscripts.
