Diversity and pace in London

Design has been in London – a city characterized by diversity and pace. The students have explored the city’s many facets of art, architecture and design – both on their own and through visits to, among others, the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Design Museum, Tate Modern and The Barbican Centre.

The fashion exhibition “Dirty Looks” made a particular impression, offering works by prominent fashion designers with various touches of decay and conceptual (red wine) stains.

We were on a tour of the London College of Fashion, where the students got an insight into the school’s overwhelming facilities and we visited two very different product design studios. The diversity of the city was striking – a vibrant mix of people, styles and expressions.

We lived in the West, but spent most of our time in the East, ate Indian on Brick Lane and experienced London’s pub culture. All in all, a fantastic inspirational trip – full of impressions for further creative projects.
