Main building
Krabbesholm Højskole

The main building was built in 1565 by Magdalene Banner, who named the estate after her late husband Ivar Krabbe. The estate’s interior appearance derives primarily from restorations in the 18th century. In the main building you will find the knight’s hall, the library, the principal’s office, and the meeting room Rokokostuen. It is in the knight’s hall that we meet for morning assembly and lectures. The knight’s hall is surrounded by elegant rococo ceiling and wall paintings by Olaus Carolus Wassmann (1730-84). They reproduce i.a. scenes from Greek mythology with Zeus, Hades and Rhea.
