Spring 2019

Zero Waste Geometry

To design sustainably is an exciting opportunity to develop new ways of working with shape. The students were asked to create an outfit made exclusively from squares, rectangles and circles and to use all of cuts either in the garments or in an accessory design. The fabrics available were a heavy satin backed twill and a chiffon. This also gave the students an opportunity to work weight, transparency and gravitational pull into their final design. The collection was shown at a fashion show, styled, modelled, designed and produced by the students.
