A Primitive Hut

The architecture department has “occupied” Four Boxes Gallery, first as a workshop and workspace, later for an opening and exhibition.

With visits from Hald & Ravnborg Architects they have worked with the archetype of architecture, “the primitive hut” - a concept that explores the anthropological relationship between man and nature as a basis for the creation of architecture.

Out of a desire to cut as little as possible in the wood, the hut is assembled only by using self-invented knots and knot joints in rope. The students have in groups researched and developed the different facades. All wood is generously sponsored by Dinesen.

Thanks to Peter, Simon, Tord, Liva and Hans Peter for a good collaboration and a great week.
