ART
The study of art at Krabbesholm requires the courage to throw yourself off the deep end – it requires curiosity and the urge to break with habits and conventions. Themes, methods, and media of contemporary art provide a starting point for demanding exercises which imply a personal, independent attitude as well as a willingness to work with theoretical ideas about art.
When working as an artist you must be amenable to criticism – and you must be able to take criticism seriously, with the aim of developing both a personal style and an ability to develop a rational argument for the creation of your work. There are not always right solutions, but this doesn’t make everything equally good.
The art courses at Krabbesholm can be used as a stepping stone to the art academies but more generally they can be part of an individuals personal development. Again, you must be ready to give up your habitual ideas of life.
