The Way Things Do

- a workshop around objects explored through material, representation and display.

How can an object change through its context and display? How are objects mediated in and outside of the museum? What happens when a thing is re-represented outside of its familiar context?

These were some of the questions that were asked when artist Karen Bohøj was teaching the art course. The students chose an object each to work with throughout the week. The materiality and representation of the object was explored through various practical exercises. The final pieces were installed both in and outside of the school and the students had to carefully consider the role of display in relation to their piece of work.
